Black Iguana Frozen Rita is a premium Blue Agave Wine based margarita beverage in a very sexy black pouch with the distinctive Black Iguana logo on the front. Its packaging design has won the Houston AMA Crystal Award.
The black pouch features a twist-off recloseable cap, and is paired off with a straw for a ready-to-drink, crank-up-the-fun, chill-out experience.
What’s the story on what is inside? Behind the Black Iguana brand is an expanse of premium Blue Agave fields in a mountainous village in the state of Jalisco, the premier Tequila region in Mexico.
Black Iguana Frozen Ritas contain 100% premium Blue Agave wine imported from Mexico.

The family-owned agave wine estate uses century-old processes for cultivating the agave fields, cooking the hearts (pinas) of the agave plants in brick ovens, then sending them through shredders, where the juice is squeezed from the fibers. And that is what gives Black Iguana Frozen Ritas such a rich, full and smooth taste.

Do Black Iguana Frozen Ritas contain high-fructose corn syrup?
We’ve been asked that question numerous times. The concern about the use of high-fructose corn syrup in our pre-mixed margarita product is most commonly voiced by individuals who may be allergic to it, diabetic, or concerned about weight control.
For those of you who’ve experienced trouble finding a pre-mixed margarita beverage that does not have high-fructose corn syrup, the search is over!
Although high-fructose corn syrup is a common sweetener and preservative used in beverages, we do not use it. The sugar we use in the Black Iguana Frozen Rita product comes from sugarcane and/or sugar beets.

Black Iguana Frozen Rita was featured in the May edition of ShelfImpact, a publication of Packaging World.
“Packages that save consumers time are the rage, and another recent example is DGI Beverage’s Black Iguana Frozen Rita premixed frozen cocktail in a pouch. The mixture makes margarita preparation and consumption convenient and portable.”
