A bloodless bullfight is set for the Greater Houston Area to raise money for scholarships for Hispanic students. The World Class Tejas Bullfights event will be held July 5 in Rosenberg, Texas.
The bullfight ring at the Ft. Bend County Fairgrounds will showcase two renown Mexican matadors Longinos Mendoza and Enrique Delgado who will fight four bulls.
The bulls will not be killed or hurt. To score a win, the matador will demonstrate his style and skills by plucking a rose placed between the bull’s shoulder blades. That means the matador has to approach the bull front-on to pluck the rose over the bull’s head and between the horns!
The Houston Chronicle reports the last bullfight in the area was held in the Astrodome in the 1980s.
Tickets are on sale now for the July 5 bullfight at the Ft. Bend County Fairgrounds located on Highway 36 in Rosenberg. If you’re interested in attending, you’ll want to click here.
